Looker Studio (formerly Data Studio) is Google’s dashboarding service to rival Power BI, Tableau and Qlik.

It’s a more lightweight tool, so doesn’t have the sophistication of Power BI or Tableau to create complex formulas or really slick visualisations, however it is fantastic at productionising data; by that I mean getting your dashboard out and into the hands of clients. Plus, it’s free!

Templates

If you’re new or even a regular user you may have missed the ‘templates’ section in Looker Studio. These offer some out of the box dashboards that you can link your data to straight away, including Google Analytics / Ads and Search.

Browse from the Read More button and click the “Use my own data”. Once integrated, you can save as your own and modify to your hearts content!

Below we’re showing the Google Search template, which is very powerful and extremely easy to see your data within a few clicks.
